That’s why I keep coming back here more and more. Course Practice Areas

When you pull into the parking lot, you’ll catch sight of the chipping area, driving range, and the tee box for the players’ course. Everything’s nicely spaced out, so it doesn’t feel crowded.

Inside the clubhouse, it’s your typical setup – plenty of merchandise to check out, and the staff are always friendly and ready to assist.

Definitely recommend checking out their clearance section – you can often snag some fantastic attire there!

And as for the green fees, they’re super reasonable for a Dallas golf course, which just adds to the course’s value. Weekday rates are $52, weekends are $70 for the 18-hole course. The 9-hole round with a cart is $31 every day, and you can play it twice. The 6-hole course is $14, and though it’s walking-only, you can play it as many times as you want.

The driving range is massive featuring over 50 natural grass hitting areas (mats only on Mon-Thu). With nine target flags/greens providing fairway views mimicking real golf holes, laser yardages, and wedge practice targets ranging from 40 to 100 yards, you can fine-tune your game to perfection.

The 350-yard long and 200-yard wide range offers ample space to practice every club in your bag, and with top-quality, full-flight range balls ensuring consistent feel and distance.

The range is lighted (open until 9pm most days) so you can get some practice in at ay time. Buckets range from $7-$14, but the machine also takes debit/credit cards making it quick and easy to restock.

The short game area is pretty unique compared to most clubs. It features 3 large practice greens surrounded by 5 bunkers of various depths, grass hollows and hillocks. Plus, there are fairway and rough cut areas for specific grass short game practice. Ability to practice every shot from 25 yards and closer.

The Traditions – 18 hole Course Breakdown

Book a Tee Time here!

At The Courses at Watters Creek, the redesigned championship course, known as the Traditions Course, winds through beautiful woodlands, offering various tees for all skill levels. With squared-off tee boxes featuring 419 Bermuda grass and speedy mini verde greens, reminiscent of top PGA Tour venues, it’s a must-play golf course in Dallas.

Front 9:

The front nine for the traditions course comes in at just under 3450 yards from the tips. It is a standard par 36 with a great mix of challenging and scoring holes.

Hole #1: Par 4, 444 yards. A great hole to start your round. Fairly simple if kept in play off the tee. A slight dogleg right with one fairway bunker and one greenside bunker.

Hole #2: Par 4, 351 yards. Probably the easiest hole on the course. The green is drivable setting up for you to score here. Don’t go left of the tee as there is water lining the left side of the fairway.

Hole #3: Par 3, 153 yards. This is the first difficult hole, in my experience. Not terribly long but you have to carry water all the way to the front edge of the green. Club up as you do not want to be short!

Hole #4: Par 5, 516 yards. First par 5 with a hard dogleg left. The tee box is very narrow with trees on both sides. You can try to cut the corner to go for the green in two, but it is best to play a safe shot off the tee to the turn and hit the green on your third shot.

Hole #5: Par 4: 432 yards. A slight dogleg right with a fairway bunker in the corner. Clear the bunker off the tee and you will be in good shape.

Hole #6: Par 4, 406 yards. The hardest hole on the course. A narrow tee shot to a narrow fairway. Driver is a no go here as there is a creek that crosses twice in front of the green. Your approach shot has to carry the second crossing so best to club up.

Hole #7: Par 5, 512 yards. Prepare to lay up on your second shot. There is a fairway bunker right in the middle and water runs on the left side that eventually crosses in front of the green. Like I said, lay up for easier approach shot to the green.

Hole #8: Par 4, 426 yards. Dead straight hole. Keep it in play and you will come out good here.

Hole #9: Par 3, 205 yards. Another difficult par 3. Must carry water to the green and there is a front greenside bunker as well. CLUB UP!

Back 9:

The back nine for the traditions course comes in at a whopping 3570 yards from the tips! It is a standard par 36 with a great mix of challenging and scoring holes. It starts off pretty simple, but the final 3 holes are very challenging. The last 2 holes cover over 1000 yards! Good luck!

Hole #10: Par4, 380 yards. Pretty straight forward hole to kick off the back nine. Be careful off the tee if you drive it long. There is a creek that runs in front of the green that you can reach.

Hole #11: Par 3, 163 yards. Finally a par 3 where you don’t carry water. Avoid the two greenside bunkers and you will be good.

Hole #12: Par 4, 376 yards. Scorecard says this is an easy hole but I disagree! Dogleg left with water on both the left and right side fairway all the way to the green. Keep it in play!

Hole #13: Par 4, 427 yards. No frills or major hazards on the hole.

Hole #14: Par 5, 549 yards. Long straight hole! Big hitters will have a chance to go for it in two. Housing on the left and water alongside the right side fairway, but it is a fairly wide fairway to hit.

Hole #15: Par 4, 398 yards. Dogleg right with a fairway bunker on the outside corner of the turn. Big hitters can hit through the turn so take a shorter club off the tee.

Hole #16: Par 3, 215 yards. Yup, another LONG par 3 that requires you to hit over water. Not an easy hole, club up!

Hole #17: Par 4, 477 yards. LONG par 4 here, but it is a straight hole. Absolute must to keep your drive straight with water on left and right.

Hole #18: Par 5, 585 yards. Another very long hole, just accept laying up on the second shot. Tee shot needs to avoid water on the left, a fairway bunker on the right, AND a creek that runs across the fairway that is reachable depending on the tee box. After the creek, I suggest laying up to keep it in play to avoid more water on the left and the 3 greenside bunkers protecting the green.

The Players and Futures Course – 9 and 6 hole Course Breakdown

Watters Creek boasts a remarkable variety with its three distinct styles of courses, making it a fantastic destination for golfers of all preferences.

Among them, The Players Course stands out, offering a straightforward 9-hole par 30 layout extending just under 2000 yards, including three par 4 holes.

The Players Course provides a perfect setting for a leisurely day on the course. Remarkably, you can enjoy two rounds of 9 holes for a mere $30, making it a fantastic value.

The course itself maintains a decent condition, surpassing the standards of many other 9-hole courses I’ve played. Booking a tee time is hassle-free, ensuring convenient access whenever you’re in the mood for a round.

Ideal for honing your short game, The Players Course is undeniably a top value golf course in Dallas.

In addition to the 9-hole course, Watters Creek offers the Futures Course, a 6-hole short course, designed for walkers only, featuring holes ranging from 40 to 90 yards and catering to all ages and skill levels.

With solid course conditions and operating hours extending until 8 p.m., the Futures Course offers greens similar to The Players Course, providing a fair challenge on certain holes.

What sets this course apart is its unlimited play option for a single fee, allowing you to indulge in multiple rounds at your leisure.

Personally, I enjoy starting with a round at The Players Course before transitioning to the Futures Course to refine my wedge game.

With three types of courses to choose from, a spacious driving range open until 9 pm, and a seriously impressive chipping area, it’s no surprise that the Courses at Watters Creek are a top pick for the best all-in-one golf course in Dallas. If you’re on the hunt for a new go-to course for practice or play, you’ve gotta give Watters Creek a shot!
